DOUBLE Ds STEAL THE TOP SPOT!
After a very wet day the Double Ds took to a slightly soggy field to take on fellow MK team the Homerun Hornets. Similar to their last game the DDs started incredibly strongly scoring 17 runs while the Hornets only managed one in the first three innings. However the Hornets battled back in the second half of the game including a fantastic six runs in the final inning but the damage was already done & the game ended 21-15 to the Double Ds. Last Tuesday, with the evening sun shining, over forty people gathered at Woughton On The Green Playing Fields for a training session and the second fixture night of the MK Softball League: The Towcester Tigers versus The Double Ds. Tuesday the 3rd of May saw the first ever game in the newly formed MK Softball League; after a month of training the excitement was clear from the start of the evening with teams arriving early to warm up, new team kits proudly on display & the sun even made an appearance for the occasion. On the eve of the first ever MK Softball League game we have some exciting new signings to announce. After an influx of new players during April we have now drafted 5 extra males to our teams: The Willow Lakers have gained Daniel Pritchard a long standing member of the club who is keen to compete again this year, as well as new recruit Ronan Murphy who first joined us over winter during our indoor training & is now looking forward to trying his hand at outdoor.
