DINKY DIAMONDS

'Dinky Diamonds' is MK Softball's youth sessions which were launched in the summer of 2023, and due to popular demand continued indoors over the winter season. Open to 4-12 year olds of all genders, and taking place at Conniburrow Community Centre, MK14 7DX, the sessions aim to be a relaxed introduction to the sport of softball.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • A relaxed introduction to the sports of baseball and softball: Our dinky's try their hand at batting, base running, throwing and catching, through fun and often silly games!

  • We let children join in at their own pace, and get parents involved with lots of the activities too.

  • All the equipment needed is provided, and you can attend your first session on a pay & play basis before deciding whether to attend on a longer term basis.

  • We run summer sessions outdoors on a dirt diamond, and then move indoors to the community centre to keep warm over the winter.

  • Sessions currently run roughly monthly on Sundays, but as we build momentum this is likely to increase.

  • Due to popular demand we have now expanded to two different age groups, our t-ball session for 4 to 7 year olds, and now also a session for 8 to 12 year olds.

  • Our t-ball session's are usually run by coaches Craig and Leah who are parents to five year old twins who also join in the fun, and our older session will be led by Jon who previously played softball for Great Britain!

  • The MK Softball League and Dinky Diamonds are run by volunteers, however we take our safeguarding responsibilities seriously which is why all coaches are DBS checked and have safeguarding training, Leah and Jon are also BaseballSoftballUK certified coaches.

Our summer sessions are taking place on the 28th April, 12th May, 16th June, 14th July, 11th August and 15th September from 2-3pm.

The cost is £25 for all six sessions and places are limited for each session.

Get in touch for more info or to sign up! We also never want finances to be a barrier to participation so we offer a 'Softball For All' fund for those who need financial support to be able to attend.
