PLAYOFF MATCHUPS DECIDED

The MKSL Regular Season came to a conclusion last week with the final game involving Rhinos and Odd Sox. The Rhinos went into the game knowing they could still finish the season anywhere between 1st and 4th place depending on the result. A defeat by more than 12 runs would see them finish 4th and miss out on the playoffs altogether, whilst a win by 12 runs or more would see them take top spot. A monster 5th inning in which the Rhinos plated 13 runs put the game beyond doubt, sealing a 28-5 victory. The League table finished with a 3-way tie for 1st place, and the teams couldn't be separated by head-to-head results after they all beat each other. Instead it came down to run difference with the free-scoring Rhinos claiming top spot, booking their ticket to the MKSL Grand Final on August 30th as the #1 seed. Lakers finished 2nd and will have home field advantage for the playoff game against Tigers; the winner will move on to the final.

Elsewhere, Hornets and Cadets tied for 4th place with Hornets winning the tie break on the head-to-head result. As a results, Cadets will be the 'visiting team' when the 2 teams meet in the Plate Final on August 23rd. The Spoon Final will also take place that night with 6th placed DD's hosting the Odd Sox.
